Howdy there fellow Deltas, it’s ol *dlbwck!* back again with your (semi) monthly blog update. Although the events have been lean, there’s been much happening in the past two months.
The brothers are diligently preparing the house for rush, the Alumni Association have been planning events for our 120th Anniversary at Homecoming, and yours truly has been hard at work getting a good tan, *dlbwck!*
Read all about it below!
Delta Awards First-Ever Housing Grants

Before everything, we want to recognize a very exciting development from the past year. Delta Psi Delta Fraternity has awarded their first annual Housing Grant to three students to commemorate their 120th anniversary at Linfield University!
The recipients include Cole “Timelord” Alva, Logan “Sir Snaxalot” Frazier-Smith, and Ethan “GJAB” Kramis.

Larry Baker piloted the program in collaboration with university in order to award students who choose to participate in Linfield Greek life. The grant pays for one semester of fraternity housing in full to the recipient (approximately $3,500). The funding for this grant program comes from a generous donation of Delta alumni.
Upperclassmen interested in participating in rush this upcoming September are invited to visit the Delta online at deltapsidelta.org and complete an application for the Housing Grant. Freshmen who wish to participate in the spring are also invited to apply for the Housing Grant.
The Alumni and current membership will celebrate their 120th anniversary and honor the recipients at our annual dinner hosted by Michelbook Country Club during the 2024 Homecoming activities. Don’t miss it!

Basement Renovations

Last but not least, the Brothers have also been hard at work remaking the old President’s Room into a social space. Given that there are still items in need of repair in the rest of the basement (and because most of the brothers live on the first and second floors), turning the room into a social space has been a real coup for breathing new life into the basement.
Deltas already feel like they have an enclave to invite guests for a relaxing game of Mario Kart all the while Beirut and music thunders through the main hall of the basement. It’s all part of a plan to fill out the rest of the rooms with occupants and save the best for last.

And that’s it, *dlbwck!* Thank you for reading another edition of the Delta Scroll. There will be plenty of news to come, including dates for further Rush events, but for now we hope we hope to see you at homecoming and wish you a great rest of the summer. (Only 16 days left!)
